Sometimes I Just Need A Good Laugh

I discovered Pinterest last night!
I may just sort of really love it!
I found this on here and it made me laugh when I was having a so/so day,
so I wanted to share it with you!
Hopefully it will bring a smile to your face like it did mine!

Truths For A Mature Person ;)

1. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you are wrong.

2. I totally take back all those times when I was younger and didn't want to take a nap.

3. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

4. Was learning cursive really necessary?

5. Mapquest really needs to start their directions at #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my own neighborhood.

6. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

7. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least a little tired.

8. You never know when it will strike, but there comes at moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive the rest of the day.

9. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after blue ray? I really don't want to start my collection over again.

10. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes that I made to my 10 page research paper when I swear I did not make any changes to it.

11. "Do not machine wash & Do not tumble dry" means I will never wash this- ever.

12. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring, but when I immediately call back it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

13. I hate leaving the house all confident and looking cute and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

16. I wish Google Maps had an "avoid ghetto" routing option.

17. I would rather carry 10 overloaded plastic bags in each hand than make 2 trips to the car.

18. I have a hard time deciphering the line between boredom & hunger.

19.  How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

20. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

21. There is no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you're going to die after leaning your chair back  a little too far.

22. As a driver I hate pedestrians. As a pedestrian I hate drivers. But, no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

23. Sometimes I look at my watch 3 consecutive times before I know what time it is.

24. Even under ideal conditions people still have trouble locating their keys, finding their phone, and pinning the tail on the donkey. But i bet everyone can find and push the snooze button 3 feet away in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

The Joys Of Being A Girl ;)

I really do Love being a girl.
I get to play dress up and play with make-up.

Every morning we have dance parties in the bathroom
getting ready for school.

I can talk about a certain boy all I want and it’s totally
fine because that’s what girls do ;)

I get to play in the kitchen
and make treats, then my roommates and I can eat it all
by ourselves and talk about everything that girls love!

My roommates and I get to make Super high quality music videos ;)
-Don't judge us!

BUT… there is one girl thing that I have a
serious love/hate relationship with.

SHOPPING!

I don't know why but clothing stores must HATE me!
I walk into a store and usually fall in love with everything.
Guess what though?
EVERYTHING
is always too expensive for my
little college budget!
Then, we also have the problem with things NEVER fitting the way we want. I tried on 12 pairs of pants last weekend before I finally found some that fit me!
12 PAIRS!
And that isn't even a high number for me.
Once I went through 20 jeans before I found a pair!
Plus I may be the cheapest person in the whole wide world and I hate spending money unless I absolutely have to, which I tell you what makes shopping really hard!

Last weekend while my family and I were in St. George my lovely mother decided that I was in need of a serious shopping trip. :)
Isn't she great?

p.s. It's her 35th Birthday today ;) hehe! Happy Birthday to the Best Mom Ever!!!!

I really was in need of new clothes though! I had a list
of clothing items that I knew I would need before the
FREEZING COLD LOGAN WINTER!

Soo.... off we head into the world of all too
expensive jeans and rip off shirts.
It was HORRIBLE!
We shopped all morning and by the time we finally took a lunch break I was about ready to break down and cry. seriously. I couldn't find any decently priced clothes that fit!

For some strange reason we decided to go back out after lunch.

Oh boy am I glad we did!
I basically hit the jackpot on round 2!
I wanted to cry once again because I actually found clothes! Happiness!!

I found these:

 SPARKLY MOCCASINS :)
Jeans :) each pair ONLY $20
a very cute new coat, which was 40% off!!!

So as horrible and disappointing as it started out to be, it did end well, and it was a VERY fun, relaxing trip!

It is Better to Look Up

Welcome to my very first blog!

I want to start off by saying…

Oh My Heck

I have no idea what I am doing!  Haha!

Don’t worry blog world, I will learn eventually and maybe one day, maybe, I will have a super cute blog like all of the rest of you.

I decided to start this blog mostly for myself. I will probably post many things that no one cares about except for me, but that’s ok because it’s my blog J. I have no idea how often I will blog or what I will blog about. It will most likely be very random because that’s kinda how I roll. I need to vent somewhere and instead of torturing my friends and roommates any more than I already do, I will write upon this blog the things of my heart. I have been blog stalking (which is totally fine to do! A good friend once told me, “It’s not creepy if someone puts it on the internet for all to see”) to get ideas on what to write about and how to do the layouts and design and all that jazz, and am clueless. Sooo, I’m totally up for anyone’s suggestions!

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately and have come to this conclusion:

LIFE IS HARD!

This past week has been extremely difficult for me, but such an amazing learning experience too. I was talking to my mom yesterday about trials in life and she said, “ash, remember that talk by Elder Oaks? The Good, Better, Best one? Well sometimes in life we are given some really good things that we have to let go of so we can have better things”.

Well heck! Letting go of something that is really good is very hard! Especially when you have no idea what the ‘better’ thing is! Giving up my ‘good’ thing for who knows what is a trial to me.

BUT… I know that God will give no trial that we cannot handle.

"We have to forego some good things in order to choose others that are better or best because they develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthen our families."
 -Elder Dallin H Oaks

As I sat listening to conference this afternoon I was feeling like a bum loser  trying to be optimistic about things when Elder Cook starting talking about ‘Looking up’. Goodness it’s amazing how you can feel like some talks are meant especially for you.

Elder Cook quoted a scripture that said, “Believe in God. Believe that He is. Believe that He has all wisdom and all power in both Heaven and on Earth”. Our Father in Heaven loves us. He has a plan for us. He will not leave us alone. Doesn’t that make you

SO HAPPY??

 Elder Cook also said:

“If we exercise our faith and look to God for help, we will not be overwhelmed with the burdens of life. We will not feel incapable of doing what we are called to do or need to do. We will be strengthened and our lives will be filled with peace and joy.

We must have the Faith to look up and the courage to follow His direction.

As we remember Christ and trust in His power, we receive strength through His atonement. It is the means whereby we can be relieved of our anxieties, our burdens, and our sufferings. It is the means whereby we can be forgiven and healed from the pain of our sins. It is the means whereby we can receive the strength and faith to endure all things.

We must look up, and step us. And as we do, we will cheer up. For God wants us to be happy."

Happy day! This talked filled me with hope! (For an awesome scripture on hope see Moroni 7:40-48) I hope it has helped lift someone else up to. I hope everyone can look to Christ because...

It is Better to Look Up.
